In today’s podcast, Dr. Mikaela Hofer, PharmD, (@mikaelamhofer) discusses pathophysiology and treatment options for postpartum depression. With a prevalence ranging from ~6 – 13% per delivery, postpartum depression is relatively common...yet pharmacologic treatments options are sparse. 

After a review of potential treatment barriers, Dr. Hofer will focus on new treatment targets for postpartum depression, including neurotransmitters and neurosteroids, as well as sharing insight on the potential role of brexanalone for this patient population.
