DESCRIPTION
These sessions are held the first Tuesday of the month, 7 - 8:30 a.m.

Ambulance Service Grand Rounds will provide practice related and accreditation required education through case studies from our service. This will consist of a live presentation by an Ambulance Service Medical Director or Physician from a related department.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians, Nurse, Allied Health

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize and properly treat high risk low frequency patients during transport
  • Compare differing approaches between the different transport teams
  • Identify strengths and best practices from all three Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service groups
  • Define concepts of care for pre-hospital and inter-facility patient transport
  • Conclude that they are responsible for meeting the standards of care set forth in the patient care guidelines
  • Explain components of care of the critical care patient during transport
  • Summarize key concepts of each patient diagnosis discussed in case study reviews
