The Mayo Clinic Audiology Conference: Enhancing Care for Diverse Populations focuses on navigating enhanced care pathways where multidisciplinary teamwork and practice innovation intersect to meet the needs of the patient. This interactive CME course focuses on hearing health, multidisciplinary approaches to hearing loss, and factors that may cause or be associated with hearing loss and influence quality of life.

Target Audience
This course is designed for audiologists, audiology students, otorhinolaryngologists, and others involved in hearing healthcare, dizziness, and balance.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

- Identify the various factors or conditions that necessitate audiology treatment via different clinical care pathways.
- List examples of how utilizing multidisciplinary teams in audiologic care can improve patient outcomes.

Semirra L. Bayan, M.D. | Dr. Semirra (Sami) Bayan is an Assistant Professor at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery specializing in Laryngeal Surgery. She is currently the Associate Program Director and Co-director of the Mayo ENT CHSI Community Outreach Clinic and the Medical Student Community Partners program, which both serves marginalized patients in our Rochester community. Her clinical and research efforts geared towards health equity, improving patient experience, and resident education. |
Jamie M. Bogle, Au.D., Ph.D. | Jamie M. Bogle, AuD, PhD, is the Division Chair of Audiology at Mayo Clinic Arizona and an Assistant Professor of Audiology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. She earned her Doctorate of Audiology (AuD) and PhD from the University of Colorado at Boulder and was awarded the James and Martha Crawford Endowed Clinical Research Fellowship in Otolaryngology at Mayo Clinic Florida. Clinically, Dr. Bogle evaluates children and adults with dizziness and imbalance due to peripheral and central conditions. |
Katie E. Dease, AUD, Au.D. | Dr. Katie Dease is an Audiologist and Manager for Southeast MN with Mayo Clinic Health System practicing in rural Owatonna MN. In her 14 years of clinical practice, she has been fortunate enough to utilize skilled audiology assistants to support her busy practice! |

Gonzalez, Au.D., Ph.D. | Jennifer Gonzalez, Au.D., Ph.D., is a Senior Associate Consultant in the Division of Audiology, Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, and an Assistant Professor of Audiology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. She earned her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences) degrees from the University of Connecticut, and she recently earned her Master of Science (M.S.) in Organizational Leadership degree from Arizona State University. Her research and clinical interests focus on Neuroaudiology, including central auditory processing disorder (CAPD); neurodiagnostic applications of auditory evoked responses, including auditory brainstem response, middle latency response, and cortical auditory evoked potentials; and traditional and non-traditional applications of amplification and assistive listening device strategies for the management of CAPD. |
Jill M. Gruenwald, Au.D. | Jill Gruenwald, Au.D., started at Mayo Clinic as an audiologist in 2018. She holds the rank of Instructor in Audiology and served as Associate Program Director for the Au.D. Externship Program with the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences from 2018-2024. In May 2024, she accepted a position as Operations Manager for the Department of Otolaryngology. |
Samantha Kleindienst-Robler, Ph.D. | Samantha Kleindienst Robler, Au.D, PhD, is an assistant professor and associate director of the Center for Hearing Health Equity at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR, and a part time audiologist/informaticist for Norton Sound Health Corporation in Nome, AK. Her clinical and research interests include innovating and improving tools that address accessibility to hearing healthcare, including telemedicine technology, as well as addressing global hearing health and public policy. |
Aniket A. Saoji, Ph.D. | Aniket Saoji, PhD, CCC-A is the director of the cochlear implant program at Mayo Clinic, Rochester and an associate professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. He is a clinical audiologist with a Ph.D. in Psychophysics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Prior to his position at Mayo Clinic Dr. Saoji was a principal research scientists at Advanced Bionics where he was involved in the development of new signal processing and speech coding strategies such as Fidelity 120, Optima, ClearVoice, Span, etc. He has co-authored several patents and publications on the technologies developed at Advanced Bionics that has led to significant improvement for cochlear implant patients. |
Greta C. Stamper, Au.D., Ph.D. | Greta C. Stamper, Au.D., Ph.D., is a clinical and research audiologist in the Division of Audiology in the Department of Otolaryngology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL where she also serves as Audiology Division Chair. Dr. Stamper is the Program Director for the Audiology Externship and an Assistant Professor of Audiology within the Mayo Clinic of College of Medicine and Science. |
Ember S. Thompson, Au.D. | Ember Thompson (they/them) is an audiologist at Mayo Clinic Rochester. They received their Au.D. from Gallaudet University. Dr. Thompson works with both pediatric and adult hearing aid and bone conduction device patients. |
