This conference is important for multiple healthcare stakeholders as the demand for rehabilitation services embedded in the intensive care unit and the medical complexity of those patients increases. This conference hosts diverse curriculum and multidisciplinary presenters, including colleagues from psychology, speech/neurology, nursing, therapy services and physicians.
It offers both an adult and pediatric track along with shared content, including lessons learned in the recent pandemic such as PICS and rehabilitation for patients with post-COVID long haulers syndrome.
New this year are topics focused on the perspectives of care from social work, psychology, pediatric OT/PT and speech therapy disciplines. In addition to intervention strategies to foster critical thinking among rehabilitation staff to support novice practitioners in the intensive care units.
