The second Mayo Clinic Advanced Surgical Technologies and Robotics symposium provides updates on many surgical and medical disciplines, with a focus on robotics and other technological innovations that are causing paradigm shifts in the delivery of healthcare. Highlights include expert presentations and panel discussions on robotics, artificial intelligence, mixed realities, haptics and telerobotics, 3D printing, and digital health innovations. The symposium aims to bring together various scientific areas of expertise with the goal of advancing healthcare knowledge.
Abstract Session - Deadline February 21, 2025
As part of the Advanced Surgical Technologies and Robotics 2025, a Poster Session for presentation centered on surgical robotics, advanced surgical robotics approaches to complex cases which are unique or challenging as well as new combinatorial technologies using Robotics with Artificial Intelligence, Heads-Up Displays or other innovative approaches (reinforcement learning, etc.). Accepted abstract recipients will be chosen from all abstracts received by the submission deadline. Registration is required for all poster presenters. Target Audience
This symposium is intended for individuals in robotic societies, medical and surgical societies, national academies of science, engineering societies, medical societies, computer science in machine learning, as well as digital health and artificial intelligence. Physicians, surgeons, physician assistants, advanced registered nurse practitioners, emergency medical personnel, administrators, OR managers and engineers (mechanical, electrical, and biomedical) may find this symposium beneficial.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Summarize the current and future states of advanced surgical technologies and robotic surgery.
- Discuss the relevance of artificial intelligence, immersive realities, and digital health in the care of surgical and medical patients.
- Review current advanced technologies available for simulation and training of surgeons and proceduralists.
- Discuss best management practices in the implementation of robotics and advanced technologies in surgery and healthcare.
- Discuss the recent advances in the fields of organ transplantation.
- Review the latest developments in space medicine.
