Dr. Sumit Bhagra is a board certified Consultant Endocrinologist & Executive Physician Leader at Mayo Clinic Health System and is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. He currently serves as the Associate Medical Director for Contracting & Payer Relations at Mayo Clinic Health System and a Board Member for the Mayo Clinic Accountable Care Organization (ACO). Dr.  Bhagra is recognized for developing a systems-based approach to understanding healthcare from the perspective of patients, providers and payers and advancing value-based care in the community setting.

Yogish C. Kudva, M.B.B.S.

Yogish C. Kudva, M.B.B.S.

Dr. Kudva trained at Saint John's Medical College, Bangalore, India.  He completed Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and beta cell transplantation training at Mayo Clinic Rochester and joined the faculty at Mayo Clinic Rochester in 1999.  He holds joint appointments in Endocrinology and the kidney Pancreas transplantation program.  He has been a Professor at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine since 2012 and was awarded a Named Professorship in 2023.

His clinical and academic interest is in treatment of diabetes particularly type 1.  He has been involved in developing and testing the next generation of therapies.  He has been principal investigator on 4 NIH Grants that have led to the approval of Automated insulin delivery on diabetes and tested the systems in pregnancy and in senior citizens.

K Sreekumaran Nair, M.D., Ph.D.

K. Sreekumaran Nair, M.D., Ph.D., is a physician scientist and consultant endocrinologist in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolism at Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN. He is a Mayo Distinguished Investigator and has the distinction of a named endowed professorship, the Richard F. Emslander Professorship in Endocrinology and Nutrition Research.  He received an Outstanding Mentor and Achievement (lifetime) in Medical Research award from Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Maria Collazo-Clavell is a Professor of Medicine in the Department Internal Medicine and Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism, and Nutrition.  She received her M.D. from the Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico in 1988.  She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Endocrinology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  She joined their staff in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism and Nutrition in 1994.

Ana L Creo, M.D. is the director of the pediatric diabetes center at Mayo Clinic and a pediatric endocrinologist.  She also serves as an associate professor of pediatrics with research interests in type 1 diabetes, diabetes technology, and artificial intelligence.

Barham K. Abu Dayyeh, M.D., M.P.H. is a Professor of Medicine and Vice Research Chair for Innovation at the Department of Medicine, Mayo Clinic, MN, USA. He is the Director of Advanced Endoscopy at Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He did his post-graduate medical training at Harvard. He is an inventor of multiple medical devices and surgical endoscopic procedures. He has more than 280 peer-review publications in top-tier medical journals including The Lancet. He received multiple awards, including the Jordanian Star of Science Award given by his Majesty King Abdulla the Second during the World of Science Forum in Deal Sea Jordan 2017 and The Surgical Innovator Award given by The American Society for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery 2022.

Jon O. Ebbert, MD, is a Professor of Medicine and Associate Chair of Advanced Analytics & Practice Innovation in the Department of Medicine. He is also the Medical Director of the Nicotine Dependence Center and Vice Chair for Research in Community Internal Medicine Geriatrics, and Palliative Care.

Aoife M. Egan, M.B., B.Ch, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Senior Associate Consultant in the Division of Endocrinology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She received her medical and doctoral degrees from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Dr Egan’s clinical and research focus is on diabetes and obesity, before, during and after pregnancy.

Martin G. Ellman, D.P.M. is a graduate of the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He joined Mayo Clinic in 1993 and serves as a staff consultant in the Division of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. He has an adult based practice focusing on non-surgical disorders of the foot and ankle, and functions as Director of Podiatry Services.

Narayan R. Kissoon, M.D. is an assistant professor of Neurology and Anesthesia that is board certified in Neurology, Pain Medicine, and headache. His clinical practice primarily involves interventional pain management, but with a special focus in interventional management of craniofacial pain and neuromodulation. He studies the mechanisms of action and clinical outcomes in treatment for headache and chronic pain. This research includes clinical trials investigating the efficacy of percutaneous intervention and impact of pain treatments on nervous system function. 

Tobias S. Kohler, M.D., M.P.H.

Tobias S. Kohler, M.D., M.P.H.

Tobias S. Köhler, MD, MPH, FACS, Professor of Urology, specializes in the treatment of erectile and sexual dysfunction, and BPH (enlarged prostate) in the Department of Urology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He is head of Mayo Men’s health and program director for the Mayo Andrology Fellowship. He received his undergraduate, medical degree, Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology and Urology Specialty Training all from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.  This was followed by an andrology fellowship at Northwestern School of Medicine in Chicago. Dr. Köhler spent his first nine years of academic practice at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois rising to Full Professor before matriculating back to his home state of Minnesota.

Dr. Köhler is an active member of American Urological Association, North Central Section, and is the President Elect of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America. He has published more than 300 peer reviewed scientific articles, book chapters and scientific abstracts and presented both locally and nationally on various subjects including erectile dysfunction, low testosterone, BPH, priapism, surgical education, and penile prostheses.

Aleksandra Kukla is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. She holds joint appointments as a Consultant Transplant Nephrologist in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension and The William J von Liebig Center for Transplantation. Dr. Kukla received her Medical Doctor degree from the Jagiellonian University, College of Medicine in Poland.  She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Advocate Masonic Hospital in Chicago, IL, a Nephrology fellowship at the University of Missouri, Columbia, and Transplant Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Kukla’s clinical and research interest focuses on improving outcomes of patients with diabetes and CKD, including kidney transplant recipients.

Seema Kumar, M.D.

Seema Kumar, M.D., is Professor of Pediatrics and Chair of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology in the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  She is the medical director of the Pediatric Weight Management Program and the Adolescent Bariatric Program at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. Dr. Kumar’s research interests include childhood obesity, type 2 diabetes and lipid disorders.

Ian R. Lanza, Ph.D.

Ian R. Lanza, Ph.D., is focused on discovering effective, realistic and economical approaches to prevent and treat metabolic disorders in the context of obesity, aging and physical inactivity. Skeletal muscle is of great interest to Dr. Lanza because it is critically important to maintaining physical function and metabolic health throughout the life span.

Dr. Lanza's research involves preclinical studies as well as translational mechanistic intervention studies in humans. An area of particular interest is the impact of lifestyle factors such as exercise and nutrition on skeletal muscle function, energy metabolism and adaptations to exercise.

Kalapana Muthusamy, M.B.B.S, M.D. completed medical school training in South India in Coimbatore Medical College, with subsequent training in the U.S. and completed endocrine fellowship at Mayo Clinic. Currently, she is on staff in the division of Endocrinology at Mayo Clinic with academic rank of assistant professor of medicine. Her focus within endocrinology is on nutrition, diabetes, diabetes technology, and transplant endocrine.

Dr. Reddy is a heart failure cardiologist and consultant in the department of cardiovascular diseases at Mayo Clinic. His research is supported by the NIH and focused on hemodynamics in pulmonary hypertension and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.

Paola Sandroni, M.D., Ph.D.

Paola Sandroni, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor of Neurology at Mayo Clinic Rochester. She graduated from Milan Medical School and subsequently moved to the US for additional research and clinical training. She joined the staff at Mayo after completing residency in Neurology, fellowship in peripheral nerve disorders and a pain medicine scholarship. She is certified in neuromuscular disorders, autonomic disorders and pain medicine besides neurology. She is division chair of the autonomic section at Mayo and chair of neurology of the Mayo health system hospital in Mankato.

Pankaj Shah, M.D., D.M. (Endocrinology) is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. Dr Shah worked as an Endocrinologist for about five years at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India before moving to the USA. He joined the staff at Mayo since 2007. He is Chair of Hospital Diabetes and Endocrinology. His interests include Management of Diabetes in Complex Situations; Transplant Endocrinology; and, Non-diabetic Hypoglycemia. 

Raymond C. Shields, M.D.

Dr. Shields is an Assistant Professor of Medicine of the College of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic.  Dr. Shields is Vice-chair of the Division of Vascular Medicine in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine. He has been the principal course director of the Mayo Clinic Vascular Symposium in addition to organizing other educational activities in the Gonda Vascular Center.  Dr. Shields has a joint appointment in the Division of Preventive and Occupational Medicine as a clinician and clinical investigator in Hyperbaric and Altitude Medicine.

Vinaya Simha, M.B.B.S, M.D. completed his medical school in India before coming to the United States for postgraduate training in Endocrinology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Lipidology. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Division of Endocrinology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. 

Adrian Vella, M.D.

Adrian Vella, M.D.

Adrian Vella, M.D. is a Professor of Medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and has been on staff at Mayo Clinic Rochester since June 2001. He directs a program funded by the National Institutes of Health aimed at understanding the pathogenesis of prediabetes and factors affecting islet function. His clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of hypoglycemic disorders.
